(2017 to present)
[‘gijɔs] is a musical-literary project inspired by the meeting of two passionate artists – musician and singer Ieva Baranauskaite and writer and dancer Laura Svedaite. Ieva Baranauskaite treats the language as music. Thus, every lingual element for her is a musical element. While Laura Svedaite finds music as the most universal language in the world. She always finds inspiration in the music, and thinks that every piece of music is a story to be told and heard. Both women believe that the text has to be spoken or sang out. The literature has to be voiced. This interdisciplinary chemistry unmasks itself in [‘gijɔs]. Both artists collaborate in creating performances in various spaces for all kinds of audiences. Ieva uses Laura’s texts as notes and performs them in a extremely subtle way. The artists are open for the collaborations with other musicians and authors.
