Ieva and her long term music team are giving private lessons of songwriting, music composition, drums, vocal, piano, Ableton Live, mixing, music arrangement, ensemble and other. Together with Lithuanian musician Mykolas Baranauskas - drummer, mixing engineer and DJ, Ieva was working on many projects including music for movies, music for theater, contemporary operas, bands “Such’a’Trip” and “In albedo”. Together they created and recorded soundtracks for literature pieces, played original and improvised music concerts and collaborated in many other projects. In more than ten years of creative work together musicians gave various workshops in Lithuania and abroad of various topics. Ieva thinks that not every talented performer is talented in giving lessons. According to her it’s like another form of art, so she is very precise about the teacher’s personality, professionality, attitude, being aware of contemporary context, flexibility, experience, ability and talent to teach. “When you decide to teach, you commit to be responsible for the next generation and it means you have to be really good not only in music, but in many other fields as well. You have to know how to create safe environment to make mistakes, how to find ways to inspire and engage, so that people would follow you; you have to know how to handle psychological process that the student is going through when learning and so many other things. Teachers personality is what influences learning process the most. It requires experience, charisma, creativity, values and devotion.” – said Ieva. SINGING CLASSES
The voice is the most magical instrument. It is said that the vibrations of the voice reach the deepest corners of another person. How to control your voice, breathe correctly, use microphone, overcome stage fears, express the story of a song, all these things you will learn in private vocal lessons. Exercises, songs, performance techniques and improvisation are all covered in this course. Lessons are for children from the age of seven as well as for teenagers, adults, professional musicians, actors and amateurs. Class will be run by Ieva Baranauskaite. VOCAL CLASSES: NOT ONLY FOR SINGING
Program is for those who want to get to know their voice better. It is for individuals who didn’t sing at all to professional singers who want to discover and explore their voice more. Feel confident in using your voice for speaking, singing and expressing yourself. The classes consists of interactive lessons in which language is seen as authentic system of sounds. Not everyone is related to music, but everyone is connected with language. Here language is used as a structure of the sound, which is similar to the music art. In using language as a bridge people are involved in sound art step by step converting it into music. This approach to teaching is focused on improvisation, games and interactive exercises. It makes singing, speaking and using your voice easy, fun and intuitive. There are three main goals. First, to get rid of the fear of singing. DRUM CLASSES: FIND YOUR INNER RHYTHM
These lessons are for anyone willing to learn how to play a drum kit or anyone willing to deepen and experiment with their sense of rhythm. Playing drums is the most meditative and satisfying activities one could possibly imagine. Drums are the driving force of any song – that is the element that makes people dance. It might seem that learning to play drums is very easy - all you do is just hit a drum with some sticks in your hands. Well, there is more to that. In these lessons you will learn why using your ears and focusing on the sound you produce when hitting a drum and sounds around you is as important as using your hands and feet. You will also learn that keeping a steady rhythm is all about forming the right habits and once you do that - playing a beat becomes as natural as walking. You will begin by learning how to hold drum sticks properly, how to position your hands, feet and whole body for optimal movement. In the very beginning of the course you will get to know how to hit a drum using least amount of energy. Once you start getting a firm, controlled but relaxed hit and get used to essential movements we will start exploring the drum world more deeply. You will learn basic drumming patterns, rudiments that can be used as building blocks for creating drum grooves and fills. In a same way you learn letters to form words and words to form sentences you will learn to utilize these simple rhythmic patterns to create your own unique ever growing drumming vocabulary. You will learn about each part of a drum kit and will be able to understand what certain drum or cymbal can accomplish in a context of a particular drum groove or in a broader scope of a song. In these courses you will be presented with different techniques to further develop your coordination, speed, dynamics, precision and expression. We will also work on your improvisation skills as well as ability to play in different styles of music. Finally we will explore how you can transfer emotions into rhythms on a drum kit and how different combinations of sounds in a groove comprise authentic vibe and like color pallet in a painting helps to create certain feel. In these courses you will learn how to observe and control your movement, how to gain a good balance between relaxed body and focused mind. SONGWRITING FOR BEGINNERS
This program is for beginners who can play some chords, write the lyrics, are able to sing and want to prepare for real songwriting. Lessons present components of the song such as harmony, melody, form and lyrics. Also it presents notation and sign system needed for songwriting. Students will get a set of tools to prepare for writing songs, with practice exercises. This approach to teaching songwriting is focused on using your ear. After completing these lessons, you will be able to:

ABLETON LIVE LESSONS: AN INTRODUCTORY COURSE INTO MUSIC PRODUCTION
This program is for those who want to learn the basics of electronic music production and for musicians who want to record and mix their own songs using Ableton Live. Vast majority of music created today has some electronic elements in it while in some genres electronically produced sounds lie at the heart of the song. While Live is a great tool for electronic music you can also use it to record and process any other type of sounds. Whether you are a producer, a singer a guitar player, sound designer or a DJ this course will be helpful to you in deepening your knowledge of music production. In these courses you are going to learn how to use Ableton Live program to create your own sounds, beats, melody lines and arrange your own compositions using just your computer. We are going to start from scratch and cover topics like: setting up your project, recording and editing both midi and audio material, applying effects to your tracks, mixing and shaping the sound for your projects and other topics. SONGWRITING: HARMONY
This program is for songwriters who want to learn how to use chords to create songs. Harmony is one of the essential parts of a modern song. "Songwriting: Harmony" lessons are for songwriters at all levels — from beginners who just started to write songs to professional songwriters who are looking for new ways to come up with ideas and spice up their work. This program presents a set of tools for writing songs, with practice exercises. These practical examples, and exercises are all based on hit songs. This approach to teaching songwriting is focused on using your ear. It makes songwriting easy, fun, and intuitive. There are two main goals. First, you will be able to create chord progressions and grooves in any of the five most common key colors. Second, you will be able to use harmony to bring out the meaning of your lyrics. Learning to use these tools and techniques will have a profound effect on your writing. After completing these lessons, you will be able to:
■ Create chord progressions that capture the feeling of a lyric story.
■ Generate original variations of any chord progression you learn.
■ Create chord progressions that fulfill your audience’s expectations—or surprise them.
■ Use chord progressions to emphasize your song’s title.
■ Develop your ideas into complete song sections.

Program is for songwriters who already write songs, want to deepen their knowledge through melody perspective and learn how to use it to create songs. Melody is one of the most important parts of a modern song. "Songwriting: Melody" is for individuals who have just started writing songs to professional songwriters who are looking for new ideas to spice up their work. This program presents a set of tools for writing songs, with practice exercises. These exercises are all based on hit songs. This approach to teaching songwriting is focused on using your ear. It makes songwriting easy, fun and intuitive. There are three main goals. First, to be able to set any lyrics to a melody. Second, to generate original ideas for building melodies— verse and chorus melodies that work well together. Third, writers’ block will be a thing of the past. You will never have to worry about it again. Learning to use the songwriting tools in this program will have a profound effect on your writing. After completing the lessons, you will be able to:
■ Set any lyrics into a melody and compose melodies over any chord changes.
■ Develop your ideas into complete song sections.
